1) children have GREATER access to marijuana because people like you still suffer under the delusion that you can legislate a plant that has been around as long (or longer) than we have. As Judge James Gray stated, legalization and regulation is ALWAYS better than prohibition. 2) The same school that you mentioned, Harvard medical, also put out a study stating that cannabis can reduce lung cancer by 50%. This alone should MANDATE its transfer from schedule 1 (no medicinal value), to schedule II, so that it will ONCE AGAIN be WHERE IT SHOULD BE...in the hands of PHYSiCIANS...not politicians, or black-booted drug nazis. 3. I had testicular cancer. I lost almost 1/2 my body weight from puking up every meal for months because of radiation. The ONLY THING that helped me keep food down was cannabis. I owe my life to this MEDICINE. 4. People like you would keep cannabis from sick people, because you fear that your children will use it. You are the same person who, if you child got sick, and a doctor took you off to the side and said that cannabis would help alleviate their suffering, would get YOUR CHILD all the cannabis they needed...and never have the guts to admit how wrong you were. Until you have walked, or rather, crawled, in a sick persons shoes, like I have, and countless others have, you have not earned the right to dictate what is medicine and what is poison. And by the way, the radiation, 20 years later, is making my spinal cord fall apart. The MEDICINE-radiation. Wake up, America. Planes are flying into our buildings because the rest of the world hates us, and they hate us 1st and foremost because we are HYPOCRITES. We suck down legal AND illegal poisons by the ton per hour, we incarcerate more people than ANY COUNTRY ON EARTH, yet we say we are the land of the FREE? Free to do what? Free to be poor? Free to go to jail? FREE TO FEAR A GOVERNMENT THAT SHOULD REPRESENT US BUT DOESNT?!!! Listen...if you want to keep drugs from kids, take the $ factor out of the equation by legalizing or at the least re-scheduling it, and putting it BACK behind the pharmacy shelf, where it belongs...where it was 70 years ago, until the government needed a reason to harass black jazz musicians, and drive mexican and chinese workers out of the country.

As a republican I just want to say that your position does not reflect all republicans. As a matter of fact I think it goes opposite to the core principles of our party. We (I) am for less gov't intervention in lives. It is up to each individual to make these types of decisions for ourself.

Hello everyone - I believe in the U.S. people have the desicion to decide if they want to use drugs are not the problem with legalization of marijuana is the youth. What kind of message will this send to the next generation. As adults we have a responsablity to keep it real for the next generation and although the side effects are not deadly there are side effects damage to brain cells that may never return. So is getting high worth the negative consequences of ones health.

this gave some very good points on how mad marijuana is.

but why keep it illegal if its practically impossible to overdose on it? people get alcohol poisoning everyday, but you dont ever hear a story of how some kid smoked too much pot and passed out and never woke up now do you?

Yes this seems like a very convincing argument to prohibit the sale and use of alcohol or tobacco.

Here is your first clue "Global warming greatest in past decade" http://www.physorg.com/news139508446.html

ie it is not as hot as the last peak, just as every previous peak (1973, 1983, 1990) was followed by a slightly cooler period. By your logic climate change stopped in each of those years, but of course it didn't.

If CO2 actually leads temperature, greenfyre, then why have global temperatures dropped since 1998 with carbon emissions growing each year? There have been no net global temperature increases since 1998.
